Crystal Risk Consulting Ltd. was set up in 2011 by
Patrick Kelliher, an actuary with extensive experience in risk
management gained from working with Scottish Widows (part of Lloyds
Banking Group), Aegon UK and contract roles. His experience includes:
▪ Developing operational risk models to meet the FSA’s Individual
Capital Assessment (ICA) requirements
▪ Validating other risk models for ICA and latterly for Solvency II
purposes
▪ Market risk oversight and management including the management of
derivatives
▪ Operational and strategic risk scenario analysis
▪ Risk assessing new products and wider initiatives to identify
threats and ensure risks identified are properly managed
▪ Development of the wider risk framework including risk appetite and
risk policies
Patrick is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA),
with whom he has also obtained a Certificate in Derivatives. He is a
member of a number of the IFoA’s Risk Management working parties
including its Thought Leadership and Research sub-committee. Details of
